With Stix Surf Wax, I set out to create a surf wax set that was both ocean- and surfer-friendly. Firstly, I made the shape of the wax be cylinders or “sticks” to make application easier. The packaging doubles as a place to store your wax when you're not using it to protect your wax from the sandy beach and your trunk from melted wax. The box is 100% biodegradable and the wax is made with all natural ingredients, so the product has no harmful impacts on the ocean.
The name, "Stix," is derived from both the shape of the wax and getting stuck to your board, and that’s why the tagline is “When you want to get stuck.” I wanted to create an eco-friendly product, but also appeal to the real reason surfer’s buy wax: to stick to their board. I wanted to mesh natural elements with bolder more humorous aspects to create a unique product and brand.

For this project, I rebranded Costco by focusing on the membership aspect to reflect it's newer offerings and to take focus off of the warehouse reputation. I wanted to update the look and feel of the brand to be more modern and alluring without sacrificing it's familiarity. In the new logo, I kept Costco's signature red and blue, but got rid of the word "wholesale" and chose a cleaner type. I carried this more modern, clean feel throughout the stationary pieces and corporate brochure.
